★★★★★ "Loved W.B. King's book that explored the Carter Administration years. I was a teenager so remember the events but did not process the ramifications of some of the decisions made during those years. Now, looking at the state of Middle Eastern politics, it is remarkable how those decisions are still felt. And the fictional story woven into the historical characters creates a lot of intrigue. Definitely a great beach read!" - Cageybrown

★★★★★ "The Leadership Crisis is a captivating book. Against the backdrop of its two main fictional characters, Diane Babel and Jack Quaid, the novel juxtaposes an engrossing tale of known historical events with supposition concerning well-known, nonfictional characters' thoughts and actions in behind-the-scene events to which the public is not privy. The book centers on actions occurring in the late 1970s, a period, which, we learn, is but a slice of Diane and Jack's long-term relationship. Diane and Jack's characters are well-developed as exemplified by the poetic imagery used to depict their appearance, mannerisms, and actions, such as that used in the opening pages to describe Diane's habit of resting her eyeglasses "in her hair like an egg in a bird nest." Such descriptive metaphors captured my imagination early into my reading of the book and thus, spurred my desire to learn more about the characters, primary and secondary, on whom the book focuses." - SAH

★★★★★ "A real "page turner." A riveting review of the political, cultural and social life of the 1970s. Needs a different cover to showcase the protagonist Jack and Diane." - Mary B
